What is the application process with a property managed by Touchstone?

We let properties on behalf of many different landlords and companies and some require their own set of procedures rather than our own - Touchstone is one such managing agent. They require us to market properties, carry out viewings and collect application documents where from that point on they will create the tenancy (subject to contract).

Following a viewing, you'll receive an email inviting you to let us know what you thought about the property and you'll have an opportunity to let us know your intentions by completing a short online form to take the next steps. 

We'll review your initial interest and send out the referencing documentation to you through an online platform called DocuSign. This saves you having to print/scan anything to us.

Once these forms have been completed, we'll need to verify your identity and have the right to rent in the UK and per legislation changes in February 2016. We'll need you to pop into our office with your ID such as a drivers licence or passport and proof of address. A full list of suitable documentation is provided as part of your application.

Once the referencing forms have been completed through DocuSign, and your ID and proof of address have been verified, we'll send the documentation to Touchstone to begin the process. They'll review your application and if successful will request a fee. 

In some cases where multiple offers have been received, we’ll proceed on a first come first serve basis, so it’s very important you complete the above steps and make a payment as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment!

Once you have paid the fee, Touchstone will instruct us to take the property off the market and cancel further viewings while they conduct the referencing.
