Can I pay the rent and deposit as close to the tenancy start date as possible?

When the tenancy agreement is ready to be signed, you'll be asked to make a payment for the rent and deposit and you can do so either by making a card payment or making a bank transfer. If your tenancy doesn't start for a while and you'd be more comfortable making a payment closer to the time, you can select 'pay by bank transfer', make a note of the bank details, and then sign the tenancy agreement so the landlord gets the chance to sign their copy. You'll just need to make sure you've made a payment for what's due at least a few days before the start of the tenancy to ensure the funds have cleared.
